The IX Micròmetre Theatre Festival closes with 92% of tickets sold

In this edition, great names of the Catalan scene such as Ramon Madaula and Jordi Boixaderas, directors such as Sergi Belbel and renowned actors such as David Verdaguer and Enric Cambray, among others, have performed.

General satisfaction among the audience attending the IX Micrometer Theater Festival, organized by the City Council of Santa Susanna and LaGuàrdia Produccions. This weekend, the Festival closed its ninth edition with 92% of tickets sold (1,416 out of 1,536) and with the feeling that the event has made a qualitative leap. In fact, the preamble to the tenth anniversary of the Micrometer, which will be celebrated next year, has brought a billboard with names such as Jordi Boixaderes, Ramon Madaula, David Verdaguer or Sergi Belbel, among others.

What began as a festival with small-format works aimed at emerging groups has grown and evolved to become a space where top-level actors and shows come together. This year, six of the nine shows that have been performed have been hung with the "full" sign.

Last weekend

The second weekend of the Micròmetre – 12, 13 and 14 September – has met all the expectations of the public. On September 12, Sergi Belbel (director) and Enric Cambray (actor) brought "Hamlet.02". A Shakespeare transformed into stand-up comedy, with a single actor playing all the characters and making the audience laugh and reflect.

On September 13, the most groundbreaking theatrical proposal of this edition was made, "Una casa en la montaña". Around a huge table, actors (Javier Beltran, Albert Boronat and Sergi Torrecilla) and the audience shared a whole universe full of drama, humour, philosophy and science fiction. The audience enjoyed a different and surprising theatrical experience. On the same day, David Verdaguer and Òscar Machancoses delved into a funny and poignant tragicomedy about the midlife crisis. "Dos señoros" is a play with songs, humor and reflections on life.

This year's Micròmetre closed with "Amor a mort", a show by The Feliuettes with Laia Alsina, Maria Cirici, Laura Pau and Isabel Acosta (piano). A fresh and fun proposal about love and its contradictions.

First part

The Festival kicked off on Thursday 4 September with the debate on the performing arts entitled "Theatre, the Netflix of the brave", with Sergi Belbel (theatre director), David Verdaguer (actor) and Jordi Bordes (critic). On Friday 5 the play "Tuelf Points" was performed, a show with versions of the great classics of the Eurovision Song Contest with the voices of Xavi Duch, Esther Peñas, Laura Daza, Dídac Flores and Marc Pociello. On Saturday 6 there was a double session in the afternoon and evening with "The day Queen saved my life", with Rocío Pinto and Rubén Espinosa; and "Els bons" with Jordi Boixaderas and Ramon Madaula. On Sunday, the 7th, it was the turn of Marc Tarrida, Alicia González, Jan D. Casablancas and Jordi Coll with "The Archimedes' Principle".

The Micròmetre has also offered small-format shows in the space named after La Cleda, in the courtyard of the Civic Center.
