A total of 900 spectators, of the 30,000 who have passed through the festival, came from outside Spain, attracted above all by Zuchero; while 2,100 people chose to stay in the municipality for at least two nights
The second edition of the Mar d'Estiu festival has represented a good tool for the cultural and economic promotion of Santa Susanna. For almost three weeks, the Torrentó de Can Gelat venue has brought together a sample of consolidated and emerging talent, from Catalonia, Spain and Italy.
Beyond the artistic quality of the people and groups that have performed in the municipality, the Mar d'Estiu leaves very good figures for the promotion and visibility of the town. When the Santa Susanna City Council took over the project, it asked that, at least, there should be a quality action with international resonance. The aim was to attract an international audience that was already in Santa Susanna, or that could travel to Santa Susanna. The choice of the Italian singer Zuchero as one of the headliners has attracted 900 spectators from France, England and Germany, who have come to his concert and have stayed overnight in the village for at least two nights.
Of the 30,000 spectators who have passed through the Mar d'Estiu, 7% (2,100 people) have spent the night in the municipality. Some have been there for a couple of nights, but they have stayed 4 and 5 days.
Broadly speaking, it can be said that 4% of the spectators have come from outside Spain; 48% came from Barcelona, Girona, Terrassa, Sabadell, Granollers, Vic...; and that the other 48% were people from the Maresme (Santa Susanna, Malgrat de Mar, Mataró, Pineda de Mar...)
A varied artistic offer
From July 31 to August 17, the Mar d'Estiu stage has hosted a varied and first-class artistic offer, designed to connect with different generations. Names such as Zucchero, Joan Dausà, Sopa de Cabra, Sergio Dalma, the Friends of the Arts, Ginestà, Leire Martínez, Rosario, Miguel Ríos, Niña Pastori, Marlena and Loquillo have given category to the programme.
Beyond the concerts, one of the pillars of this edition has been the new Garden Village, which has been converted into a botanical oasis and has become the festival's social meeting point. The Market has offered several proposals and the km 0 stage has served as a platform to promote new musical talents in an intimate and close format. The gastronomic proposal has also been well received by the attending public.
