In the Torrentó de Can Gelat there is a Bicycle Service Station, with a mechanical workshop, cleaning service, secure car parks and ticket offices with charging points for e-bikes.
Santa Susanna is already part of the Eurovelo network of long-distance cycling routes, which connect the European continent. A bicycle service station has been installed in the Torrentó de Can Gelat, with a mechanical workshop, a cleaning service, four secure car parks and ticket offices with charging points for electric bicycles and e-bikes. A photovoltaic roof generates the energy that powers the station's services.
This station is part of the Maresme EuroVelo 8 project, promoted by the Maresme County Council with funding from the European funds Next Generation EU.
Eurovelo 8 is the network's Mediterranean route. It connects the cities of Athens and Cádiz, with a route of more than 5,900 km along the coast. It crosses 9 states of great cultural and natural wealth.
In Spain, the 1,700 km route crosses the entire Mediterranean coast, from La Jonquera to Cádiz, passing through Malaga, Murcia, Valencia, Barcelona, among others. The Mediterranean climate allows the route to be kept open throughout the year.
Being part of the Eurovelo network also means being a benchmark for leisure cycling and tourism at an international level. It is an opportunity to make Santa Susanna continue to be visible for an infrastructure linked to healthy activity.
