The new municipal space of Can Mas de Dalt - La Siesta has been the scene of six concerts that have starred some of the most relevant figures of music with African-American roots
The first edition of the Susanna Blues Festival has gathered the praise of a demanding audience that has vibrated with the six concerts that have been held on May 22 and 23 in the municipal cultural space of Can Mas de Dalt-La Siesta. A thousand people have singed, danced and enjoyed the performances of some of the most outstanding voices and musicians of the African-American music scene.
The attendees of the festival have rated the event with a fairly high mark, 9.6 out of 10. They have made a very good assessment of the squad of programmed groups, also of the organization and, above all, of the place. The old La Siesta, Can Mas de Dalt, with its more than 10,000 m² of land, is the ideal place to do activities related to culture such as, in this case, music.
The incorporation of the Susanna Blues Festival into the town's cultural calendar serves to expand the cultural offer of the municipality to new styles and new audiences. It is an ambitious commitment that aspires to turn Santa Susanna into a meeting point for lovers of this genre and place the town on the map of festivals specialized in rhythm & blues in southern Europe.
The first edition of the Susanna Blues Festival has brought to the town one of the most recognized blues-rock bands in Europe, A Contra Blues, which this year celebrates its twentieth anniversary; also in Los Mambo Jambo, a group led by Dani Nel·lo, considered one of the best saxophonists in Europe; at Wax & Boogie, Monica Green, The Suitcase Brothers and Scaramanga.
