The new event, which will be held on May 22 and 23 at the Can Mas space in Dalt-La Siesta, will bring some of the main figures of music with African-American roots

Santa Susanna will host this spring the first edition of the Susanna Blues Festival, a new event dedicated to blues and all sounds with African-American roots. The festival was born with the aim of expanding the cultural offer of the municipality to new styles and new audiences. It is an ambitious commitment that aspires to turn Santa Susanna into a meeting point for lovers of this genre and place the town on the map of specialized festivals in southern Europe.

The festival will be held on May 22 and 23, 2026 at the Can Mas de Dalt – La Siesta space. For two days, the municipality will bring together some of the most outstanding artists on the state rhythm & blues scene, in a program that will combine concerts, parallel activities and a festive atmosphere designed for all audiences.

Quality and good atmosphere

Among the most outstanding groups that will perform at the Susanna Blues Festival is A Contra Blues, one of the most recognized blues-rock bands on the European scene, which celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2026. Also coming Los Mambo Jamb, a group that combines rock & roll, rhythm & blues, surfing and swing. The leader of the band, the saxophonist Dani Nel·lo, considered one of the best musicians in his genre.

The festival will also feature performances by Wax & Boogie, one of the most prestigious European blues and boogie-woogie ensembles; Monica Green, a benchmark for soul and gospel in Catalonia; The Suitcase Brothers or Scaramanga, a group led by Pere Miró, Héctor Martín, Abel Boquera and Arnau Julià.

The Susanna Blues Festival will include sessions with DJs specialized in blues and rhythm & blues, who will maintain the musical atmosphere between concerts and during the public meeting spaces. There will also be a record and collecting fair.
