The municipality receives 12 certifications from the programme promoted by the Provincial Council and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, which accredits the work and commitment of the City Council, establishments and services in favour of the environmental quality of the destination

Santa Susanna has been distinguished with a total of 13 Biosphere certifications that accredit the work of the City Council and companies in the tourism sector in favor of the sustainability of the destination. During the Maresme Tourism Day, which was held at the Pineda de Mar Auditorium on Tuesday 3 March, the Santa Susanna City Council, Hotel Alegria Caprici Verd, Hotel Alegria Florida Park, Hotel Alegria Mar Mediterrania, Aqua Hotel Aquamarina & Spa, Aqua Hotel Onabrava & Spa, Aqua Hotel "The Breese", Atzavara Hotel & Spa, Hotel Indalo Park, Hotel Tahití Playa & Suites, Santa Susanna Tourist Office, Levante Beach and Santa Susanna Chic! Apartments.

Throughout the region, 117 entities have received the distinction, of which 11 companies and services have received it for the first time and 106 have revalidated it. The accreditations of the Tourist Information Points (PIT) have also been delivered to 66 companies, 5 of them for the first time.

The Biosphere certification is an initiative promoted by the Barcelona Provincial Council with the support of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce to guarantee the quality and sustainability of tourism services. It is based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that recognise good tourism practices in terms of climate change and sustainability, and social and cultural return. The ultimate goal is to extend the culture of tourism sustainability to companies, tourist services and destinations.
