Santa Susanna and the Equestrian Raid, an unbeatable pairing

The municipality hosted the 72nd edition of the oldest event in Spain and Europe, which was also the Absolute and Junior Spanish Championship of the specialty

192 pairs (horse and rider) from fifteen countries delighted the public for three days with this spectacular equestrian discipline

The Santa Susanna facilities once again captivated the participants who enjoyed an incomparable natural environment: the Montnegre-Corredor Park

As has been the case for many years with the arrival of the first weekend of December, Santa Susanna has become the national and international epicenter of equestrian raiding, this year with the celebration of the seventy-second edition of the Raid Barcelona Santa Susanna, the oldest event of this spectacular equestrian discipline both in Spain and in Europe.

A unique event for a unique setting: the incomparable natural environment of the Montnegre-Corredor Park.

On this occasion, the sports competition came with an added gift, as it served to know the winners of the 2025 Spanish Raid Championship in the Absolute category, played on a CEI3*, as well as the Spanish Junior Championship 1 on a CEIYJ1*.

Therefore, Santa Susanna lived a weekend in which the elite of the equestrian resistance gathered.

All this in a perfect combination of landscape, technical demand and historical tradition, which made Santa Susanna a unique event, where resistance and strategy made the differences.

The CEI3* was developed over six phases spread over the three days of competition, with distances of 34, 36 and 20 kilometers each day, adding up to a total of 180 kilometers. On the other hand, the one-star raids were held over 100 kilometers, divided into three phases of 36, 34 and 30.

All the routes followed a daisy-type format, with starts, arrivals and vetgates centralized in the municipal sports facilities of Santa Susanna, reinforcing the operation and veterinary control of the event.

After the demanding competition, Eulalia González Guardia was proclaimed champion of Spain Absolute Raid 2025 riding Chicha des Pacoulis.

The silver medal went to Nil Vilaregut Casas with Gentleman de Vayrols, while the bronze went to Alex Luque Moral on the back of Ferkad El Meissane.

In the team classification, Catalonia won gold and was the only team capable of completing the course.

In the Spanish Junior Raid Championship 1* 2025, the victory and gold medal went to Silas Barreira with Siglo Siro.

The silver corresponded to the Maresme Bruna Carrau with Al Ram and the bronze went to Martina Madrid riding Fella de la Ramee. In teams, Catalonia won again, followed by Asturias and Galicia.

In total, 192 pairs participated in the five races, with participants from Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Spain, France, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland.

The nerve center of the event was the DWO Sirius Santa Susanna Hotel, which hosted the athletes and members of their respective teams. It also hosted the trophy ceremony and the final party. Once again, a show.
