The City Council and the promoter TheProject assure that after a year of work they have managed to close a renewed and ambitious proposal with national and international artists
The Santa Susanna City Council and the promoter TheProject, responsible for the organization of the Mar d'Estiu festival, have announced that the event will return to the Costa de Barcelona in 2026 - from the end of July to mid-August - with a renewed and even more ambitious proposal, which will include national and international names.
The first confirmed artist will be revealed in the next few hours. The rest of the festival program, as well as the specific dates, will be known in the coming weeks. The mayor of Santa Susanna, Joan Campolier, has stated that "we want to resume the spirit of the Summer Sea to offer its best version. A very stimulating project to lead the cultural offer of the Costa de Barcelona".
Both the City Council and the Barcelona production company are working together to make Mar d'Estiu the benchmark festival on the Barcelona Coast. The festival will once again be held in the Torrentó de Can Gelat, a large, well-equipped space with an extensive parking area. It will have an improved venue at all levels, more services and a better gastronomic offer and a transversal program for all audiences. "This year of work has helped us," explains Tito Ramoneda, president of TheProject, "to prepare a more ambitious and daring festival proposal."
During the two weeks that the festival lasted in 2024, more than 28,700 people passed through the venue located on the Torrentó esplanade of Can Gelat in Santa Susanna. There were 12 massive concerts (Ara Malikian, Sopa de Cabra, Malú, God Save The Queen...) with their corresponding small-format replica in the Espai Village.
