Santa Susanna brings together the world elite of the professional BTT circuit, who have competed in the events of the Festival Bike Show.

Thousands of people, including participants and companions, experience a weekend of sports, but also family activities with mountain biking as the main attraction.

Santa Susanna has once again been the meeting point for top professionals in the international BTT circuit. The Festival Bike Show brings together the best mountain bike specialists year after year, as well as the future stars of the sport. But around the Bike Show, there are also popular rides and family-friendly activities.

On the weekend of May 10th and 11th, over 2,500 people visited Santa Susanna, drawn by activities centered around mountain biking. 790 people participated directly in the sports competitions or family activities, while another 2,000 made up the group of companions, teams, and technicians.

David Valero and Samara Maxwell Win the Shimano Super Cup Massi

The star event of the Festival Bike Show is the Shimano Super Cup Massi, the reference mountain biking competition at an international level. It consists of six XCO format races, categorized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), and is a qualifying event for the World Ranking.

In the men's category, the winner this year was Galician cyclist David Valero, who earned a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The race featured the elite of the competition, with names like Jofre Cullel (last year's winner), Thomas Griot, Joshua Dubau, David List, Gerardo Ulloa, Samuel Gaze, Antoine Philipp, and Bjorn Riley.

In the women's category, the winner was New Zealander Sammie Maxwell, who triumphed over experts like Greta Seiwald, Tatiana Saitarova, Esther Villaret, Line Burquier, Marta Cano, and Simona Spesna.

Wide Participation

In total, 790 cyclists participated in the various events over the weekend. The Shimano Super Cup Massi attracted athletes from Germany, Andorra, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Catalonia, Spain, the United States, France, Honduras, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Russia. The participation was as follows:

  • Master 30-40-50-60 / Junior: 135 people

  • CRI Copa Catalana Internacional Biking Point: 104 people

  • Elite/Sub23: 80 people

  • Cadet: 64 people

Other events during the weekend had the following participation:

  • Gravel Ride: 78 people

  • Ebike Tour: 65 people

  • Super Cup Youth: 166 people

  • Pedalada: 31 people

There is a general consensus among riders that the BTT circuit of Santa Susanna is one of the best due to its demands, spectacular nature, and uniqueness.
