The VII Meeting of Managers of the Smart Tourist Destinations Network will be held in Santa Susanna (Barcelona) from 6 to 8 May with the participation of 150 managers representing more than one hundred destinations.

The Meeting will be held under the title "Towards the Spain 2030 Sustainable Tourism Strategy" and aims to inform destinations of the projects that will be key in their transformation process, from the point of view of sustainability, digitalisation and governance that will be developed by SEGITTUR in the coming months.

This event is organized by the Secretary of State for Tourism, through SEGITTUR, with the collaboration of the Santa Susanna City Council and the Barcelona Provincial Council.

Digitization

The 2030 Tourism Strategy, retrospective and progress, will be the starting point of the meeting, which will then discuss projects linked to digitalisation such as the Smart Destination Platform and the Open Innovation Ecosystem Platform.

Sustainability

With regard to sustainability, the meeting will discuss tourism sustainability plans in destinations and the DTI model. As well as the EGERIA system for the sustainability, intelligence and quality of Spanish tourism. Training will also be the protagonist, as they will be informed of the news of the training program Hostesses.

Governance

Governance is key in the management of destinations, which is why the meeting will pay attention to the preparation of DTI reports and monitoring, as well as the importance of supra-municipal leadership in the DTI project.
