Santa Susanna has its beginnings in the twelfth century, when the lands of the valley began to be inhabited by peasants.
The Catalan coast suffered numerous pirate attacks during the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries. The inhabitants of Santa Susanna built large towers and fortified their farmhouses in order to protect themselves from these dangers, watching the sea and warning in case of the arrival of corsairs. Some of these towers are still preserved in Santa Susanna. Do you want to know them?
